Microbial metallogenesis of early carboniferous manganese deposit in central Guangxi, South China

چکیده
Manganese deposits in the Early Carboniferous Baping Formation of central Guangxi, South China were formed Youjiang Basin on southern passive margin Block. Hosted Second Member Formation, manganese ore layers interbedded by thin-middle carbonate and silicified carbonate. Previous studies provide limited information about this deposit, sedimentary characteristics ores metallogenic mechanism are not clear. In study, integrated analyses petrology, mineralogy, geochemistry, carbon isotope reveal microbial metallogenesis deposit Guangxi for first time. Oncoid-bearing massive Mn laminated contain evidence disseminated mineralized biosignatures millimeter scale. An situ mineralogical study based CL, FTIR, SEM-EDS Raman spectroscopy has identified syngenetic diagenetic Fe systems during formation deposit. Both biomats precipitated micro-laminae microbiogenic minerals such as Mn-calcite, rhodochrosite, kutnohorite, apatite. The model can be divided into two main stages: (1) Sediment accumulation stage, where enzymatic Mn(II) oxidation controlled oxides within cyanobacterial organic network, thus enriching manganese; (2) Diagenetic Mn-metasomatism reaction between matter led to precipitation proto-ore (Ca-rhodochrosite). A positive ?13C value (+1.53‰) sample negative values (?7.15‰ ?3.64‰) samples indicate participation alkalinity source Mn-bearing carbonates. presence kutnohorite Mn-sulfide indicates a transitional zone suboxic anoxic conditions. Anatase represents mineral Fe-biomat. After release elements decomposed cells EPS, series accessory (feldspar, apatite, pyrite, etc.) formed.

New megafossil and microfossil data indicate four episodes in the diversification of Silurian-Early Carboniferous land plants of South China, a relatively continuous regional record. Plant diversity increased throughout, but the rising curve was punctuated by three major falls. There were peaks of origination in the Ludlow-Pragian, Givetian, late Famennian and Visean and peaks of extinction in ...
متن کاملLocal Article Enteric Fever in South China: Guangxi Province
Guangxi is a province of China endemic for enteric fever. Salmonella enterica serovar Paratyphi A has been found to be causing more and more enteric fever episodes in the last 10 years, evident not only from routine surveillance but also from prospective population-based surveillance. The prevalent pattern of paratyphoid seen was different from typhoid since it mainly occurred in outbreaks. Alm...

During the past few winters several nomadic areas in the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) of the People's Republic of China have been greatly affected by unusually heavy snowfall. Losses in Nacqu Prefecture alone were estimated ar 1.03 million animals or about 15 % of the Prefecture's totallivestock population (MILLER, 1998). Thus far there have only been theories about the true causes of these ca...
متن کاملMicrobial life in the late Paleozoic: new discoveries from the Early Devonian and Carboniferous
Fungal spores from the Lower Devonian Rhynie Chert are known to harbor a wide variety of parasitic and saprotrophic microfungi. However, only a few of these intrusive organisms have been documented in detail. This paper describes a previously unknown microfungus contained in fungal spores from the Rhynie chert; it consists of tenuous branched filaments and terminal, globose, usually apophysate ...
